DrayTek Vigor 2763 VDSL & Ethernet Gigabit Router
The DrayTek Vigor 2763 is a high-performance VDSL or Ethernet WAN router designed to deliver Gigabit-speed networking with advanced routing, security and management features. Ideal for small office and home office (SoHo) environments, it supports Quality of Service (QoS), VPN and comprehensive content filtering.
Flexible WAN Connectivity & Failover
- Integrated VDSL modem for connection to Superfast Fibre
- Ethernet WAN for connection to services such as Virgin Media Cable and Ultrafast FTTP
- Support for 4G USB modem connectivity
Any WAN option (VDSL, Ethernet WAN, or 4G USB) can be used as the primary Internet connection or as a failover backup. If the main connection fails, the Vigor 2763 automatically switches to a backup, helping ensure continuous Internet access and VPN connectivity.
Powerful SoHo VPN Router
The Vigor 2763 delivers robust Virtual Private Network (VPN) capabilities tailored for small office and home office use:
- Up to 200 Mbps IPsec VPN throughput
- Up to 2 concurrent VPN tunnels
- Suitable for linking:
- Branch or remote offices back to a head office
- Home-based or mobile teleworkers back to the main office
Once connected, users gain secure, encrypted access to office resources, enabling remote desktop, file sharing and seamless access to internal devices.
Broad VPN Protocol Support
The Vigor 2763 supports a wide range of industry-standard VPN protocols for LAN-to-LAN and dial-in teleworker VPNs:
- IPsec IKEv1 & IKEv2 with EAP and XAuth authentication
- DrayTek SSL VPN
- L2TP
- OpenVPN for teleworker connections
User management for dial-in teleworkers is handled via the router’s web interface, including support for mOTP 2-factor authentication on IPsec, L2TP and SSL VPN teleworker connections.
DrayTek SSL VPN for Teleworkers & Remote Sites
- Supports up to 2 DrayTek SSL VPN tunnels
- Uses SSL/TLS encryption, similar to HTTPS used for secure websites
- Teleworkers connect via the free DrayTek Smart VPN Client app:
- Windows
- macOS
- Apple iOS (iPad, iPhone)
- Android
SSL VPN tunnels can also be used for secure LAN-to-LAN connectivity between DrayTek routers.
VPN Connectivity Behind NAT with VPN Matcher
When routers are located behind NAT or Carrier-Grade NAT (CG-NAT), traditional VPN connections can be difficult or impossible to establish. DrayTek’s VPN Matcher service enables:
- Dial-in teleworkers to connect to routers that are behind NAT
- VPN tunnels between two DrayTek routers that are both behind NAT
This helps overcome common connectivity limitations on 4G mobile broadband and other NAT-restricted environments.
4 Gigabit LAN Ports & VLAN Support
The Vigor 2763 includes 4 Gigabit LAN ports for high-speed wired connections to:
- Computers
- Servers
- Network Attached Storage (NAS)
With 2 LAN subnets and VLAN capability, you can:
- Create a fully isolated guest network
- Separate networks for different purposes (e.g. two wireless networks, or a dedicated LAN for printers and servers)
Each subnet can have its own:
- Content Filtering
- Firewall rules
- Quality of Service (QoS) policies
- Route Policy configuration
Centralised Management with VigorACS
The Vigor 2763 is designed for central management via the VigorACS platform alongside other DrayTek devices such as VigorAP access points and VigorSwitch switches.
VigorACS provides:
- Central visibility and control of your DrayTek estate
- Scalable management for dealers/SIs and multi-site users
- Reporting, automated/bulk firmware updates, VPN management
- Alarms and alerts for connectivity or other issues
Robust IPv4 / IPv6 Firewall Security
Security is a core focus of the Vigor 2763:
- Protection against DoS (Denial of Service) and IP-based attacks
- Object-based firewall for flexible, granular rule creation
- Protection across wireless, Ethernet and VPN connections
Key capabilities:
- Dual-Stack IPv4/IPv6 support
- Object-based Firewall, QoS, Content Filtering and VLANs for both IPv4 and IPv6 networks
- Ability to apply different Content Filtering rules:
- Network-wide
- To specific devices
- Only to guest networks
Advanced Web Content Filtering with DNS Filter
Control and secure web access with comprehensive filtering features:
- Block access to specific websites via whitelists/blacklists
- Restrict downloads of certain file or data types
- Block IM/P2P applications and other unwanted content
- Time-scheduled restrictions per user, per device, or globally
- HTTPS/SSL site filtering (blocking even when URLs are encrypted)
Using the GlobalView service (annual subscription required), you can:
- Block categories such as gambling or adult sites
- Benefit from continuously updated site categorisations and malware site lists
- A free 30-day GlobalView trial is included with the router
DrayDDNS – Free Dynamic DNS Service
The Vigor 2763 includes free DrayTek Dynamic DNS (DrayDDNS):
- Assigns a memorable
drayddns.comhostname (e.g.vigor2763.drayddns.com) to your router - Automatically updates when your WAN IP changes (including failover events)
- Simplifies remote access to:
- VPN services
- Router management
- Other services made available through the router
The router can also obtain and manage free SSL/TLS certificates from Let’s Encrypt for your DrayDDNS hostname, keeping certificates current for use with SSL VPN and other services.
Quality of Service with App QoS
Optimise bandwidth and prioritise critical traffic using App QoS:
- Select and prioritise key applications and services such as Zoom or Skype
- Use 4 separate QoS queues to prioritise by:
- Device (IP address)
- Service type (e.g. VoIP, DNS)
- Packet tags (802.1p and DSCP for IP phones)
Additional QoS features:
- Auto Voice VLAN to automatically prioritise VoIP calls through the router
- Bandwidth Limit to:
- Set per-client speed limits
- Limit groups of IPs
- Apply shared bandwidth caps to entire subnets (e.g. guest networks)
Multi‑Purpose USB Ports
The Vigor 2763 includes two USB ports that can be used for:
- 4G/LTE modems
- USB temperature sensor
- USB storage
- USB printer sharing
Use cases include:
- 4G/LTE primary or backup Internet connection, with failover from ADSL/VDSL in case of outage
- Network Attached Storage (NAS) via USB flash drive or hard drive
Storage can be accessed via:
- Windows networking (SMB)
- FTP
This enables Windows, Apple, Android and Linux devices to access the router’s storage locally or through VPN.
Central AP & Switch Management
The Vigor 2763 can centrally manage compatible DrayTek devices connected locally:
- VigorAP wireless access points
- VigorSwitch network switches
Through the router’s web interface (local or remote), you can:
- Configure and administer multiple APs and switches
- Simplify deployment and ongoing management around your home or office
